Valuation and Finance Modelling Principal

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Product team as Valuation and Finance Modelling Principal. In this foundational role, you will work directly with Vallorii’s co-founders, Jorge Cárdenas Prieto and Lennart Baumgärtner, helping define and deliver the financial valuation logic underpinning our platform. You bring deep experience in valuing companies—gained through roles in private equity, investment banking, or strategic finance—and apply that expertise to shape the valuation tools of the future.

This is a high-ownership role where you will define your own workstreams and drive them with autonomy. As Vallorii scales, your role will naturally evolve into a core leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Modeling and Valuation Logic

  • Develop robust, scalable valuation models (e.g., DCF, IRR, LBO, NPV) that align with Vallorii’s infrastructure investment platform.

  • Translate Private Equity and deal-making logic into product features that offer users tangible decision-making value.

  • Build financial modeling components that can be integrated into user-facing tools, ensuring flexibility for diverse stakeholders including investors, utilities, and regulators.

  • Ensure consistency between valuation outputs and best-practice financial theory and regulatory expectations.

2. Strategic Product Development

  • Contribute to shaping Vallorii’s product strategy by embedding your financial expertise into the core architecture of the platform.

  • Integrate real-world financial datasets, regulatory benchmarks, and scenario logic into valuation tools.

  • Bring market credibility to Vallorii’s valuation methodology through deep domain knowledge and best-in-class modelling practices.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with developers and UI/UX peers to translate financial models into functional product elements.

  • Work closely with the research and advisory teams to ensure that product features reflect cutting-edge insights and real user needs.

  • Maintain close alignment with co-founders to ensure product direction supports Vallorii’s broader mission.

4. Execution with Autonomy and Ownership

  • Take full ownership of your tasks, operating with independence and initiative.

  • Define, prioritize, and execute on your own workstreams, aligned with strategic goals.

  • Contribute meaningfully to Vallorii’s early-stage value creation and product-market fit.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • A postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience in valuation-focused roles within private equity, investment banking, transaction services, corporate finance, or strategic advisory.

  • Strong fluency in core valuation methods (DCF, IRR, LBO, NPV) and the ability to adapt these to complex infrastructure or regulatory contexts.

  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex financial logic into usable tools, dashboards, or decision frameworks.

  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Python for financial modeling (preferable both); comfort with integrating external datasets or APIs.

  • Experience working in high-autonomy environments (e.g., startups, consulting) and delivering outcomes with minimal oversight.

Desirable

  • Experience developing financial software or analytics tools—especially those used by institutional investors or infrastructure stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure regulation, cost of capital methodologies (e.g., CAPM, Multifactor models), and investor reporting.

  • Consultancy experience involving client-facing delivery and cross-functional project leadership.
